Only competitive rankings mentioned
If their entire identity is their Valorant rank, ask yourself: do they want a partner or an audience? Nothing wrong with being competitive, but relationships need more dimensions.
"Looking for a gamer girl" (or equivalent)
Treating a gender + hobby combo as a fantasy trope instead of seeking a real person. People aren't character builds.

Bio is entirely about what they don't want

Mentions what they're looking for clearly
"Looking for someone to co-op with and see where it goes" is honest and low-pressure. Clarity about intentions shows emotional maturity.
Mix of gaming + non-gaming interests
They mention cooking, hiking, reading, or literally anything else alongside gaming. Whole humans make better partners than one-dimensional ones.
Communication style is mentioned
"I prefer texting first before voice chat" or "I'm a night owl gamer" shows self-awareness and respect for boundaries.
They ask thoughtful questions
First messages that reference your profile ("I noticed you play Stardew—do you go for profit or aesthetics?") show genuine interest, not copy-paste effort.
Comfortable with their skill level
"I'm casual and I love it" or "I'm competitive but I don't tilt" both show someone who knows themselves and won't project insecurities onto you.
Boundaries are stated, not weaponized
"I game 3 nights a week and that's important to me" is healthy. It's stated as a fact, not a dare. That kind of clarity makes everything easier.
How to build a green-flag profile
- Be specific about your games. Don't say "I game." Say what you play, how you play, and what you love about it.
- Show range. Mention at least one non-gaming interest. You're a person, not a Steam library.
- State your intentions. Looking for dating? Friendship? Co-op partner? Say it. Ambiguity isn't mysterious—it's confusing.
- Include real photos. At least one clear photo of your actual face. Avatars and memes are fun, but people want to see who they're talking to.
- Set boundaries with warmth. "I'm a night owl who games after 9pm" is informative. "Don't message me before noon" is hostile. Same information, different energy.
